About PlayNames personalized kids music

PlayNames was founded by Nancy Dwyer in 2002 to make the very best personalized music for kids. Inspired by her love for children (including her own, Patrick, Collin, and Thomas), she set out to create real, high quality music for kids . So much of the kids music she found out on the market seemed to treat kids like they had no musical appreciation.

But Nancy knows that kids develop musically from a very young age. Nancy's entertainment career began at the age of 2 when she began competing in fiddle contests in her native state of Texas. By the age of 5 she won the International Fiddling Contest 18 and under age bracket! It's no wonder with a master fiddler for a father, and a grandfather who was the first person inducted in the Texas Fiddling Hall of Fame. For over 20 years prior to starting PlayNames, Nancy toured around the world as a featured vocalist and musician with platinum recording artists such as Charlie Pride and Ray Stevens.

Nancy took her love of music, and her strong relationship with some of the finest musicians in the world, and decided to make a company and a product she could be proud of. Somewhere along the line, she even managed to get a degree in Fine and Performing Arts from Northwestern University!
